With almost 20 years within the Swedish military intelligence service and five years working for SAAB Group Security, Carolina Angelis has a unique insight of the methods of espionage and how to counteract.
Espionage and the human factor
Information security does not equal IT-security. Technical security solutions doesn’t help much if someone on the inside opens the door to the attacker. Several studies show that the human factor by far surpasses all technological risk factors within data protection and information security. The human being is and will always be the weakest link.
This talk highlights threat actors and methods, especially human intelligence, i.e. recruiting someone on the inside, but also social engineering and how social media is being used by intelligence services worldwide.
Today, Carolina Angelis runs an information security company and focuses on awareness training regarding espionage, threat actors, and methods.
