The purpose of KiNS is to contribute to enhanced information security in municipalities and county councils across Norway.
The Association of Municipal Information Security (KiNS) was founded in 2003. KiNS comprise of more than 300 municipalities, county councils and intermunicipal companies and also has a large number of business members. KiNS collaborates closely with the Data Protection Authority. Other important partners are NorSIS, KS, DiFi, NSM, the Nowegian Directorate of eHealth (NDE), and the Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training. KiNS works actively to spread information and increase the competence of its members.
